3 Tips to help you Enjoy Cooking

I feel like when I talk to many women about why they do not cook, they usually tell me it’s because they don’t enjoy the process or they don’t know what to cook. I have been there! cooking can sometime feel overwhelming and intimating if you haven’t had much experience in the kitchen before. fortunately for me my grandmother drove a deep love of being in the kitchen when I was really young. I first started doing it, to please my grandmother/ spend time with her. however, over the years I start to slowly enjoy it! once my grandmother passed away in 2017, it was an outlet for me! it allowed me to still feel close to her!

Fast forward to now! I have combined my love for cooking with my love for health! I didn’t get here over night. it was a process and I learned a few tips to help find the love for cooking along the way. so let’s get into it!

  1. Clean Your Space

One of the biggest challenges for me is having a dirty space. when our environment is chaotic so is our minds. this is when we tend to loose all motivation and end up wording the out instead. Cleaning your space is one of the easiest and most effective ways to spark that motivation and calm the noise in your head!

2. Set a Vibe

This one is probably my absolute favorite. I love to light a candle, turn on a YouTube video, or music and really be present in the moment. it turns a chore into something playful. some of my favorite memories is dancing in the kitchen while I am baking or cooking. there is truly something so special and uplifting about music.

3. Get Creative

There is no need to feel like you have to make a new recipe every night but allowing the kitchen every now and then to become a creative space, always lifts the mood. it allows creativity and play to come back into our lives. it helps to break us out of a rut when we switch it up. learn to experiment and let loose a little!
