5 ways I recharge My Mind and Body

I am so excited to share with ya’ll 5 ways l like the recharge. I feel like recently I have been extremely anxious, dealing with some personal things. I hope to one day share my story one

here but right now I’m just not quite ready (DM me on insta @jen.lanee) if you think I should bit the bullet and go ahead to share my story of how I got to where I am today. Without

further ado, these 5 things have been influential in my healing journey that I can’t help myself but to share.

1.     Journaling

I cannot express how journaling has been one of the most powerful tools in my tools kit when it comes to dealing with my anxiety. I do several different forms of journaling from using

prompts, writing my prayers, or just mind dumping everything out onto a page. I find something so refreshing about it.

Journaling allows you to take all the racing thoughts, that are draining you, and physically have to process each thought at a time. When you're forced to slow down, your mind cannot be

compulsive, it is forced into mindfulness. You might even realize that you feel lighter once the thought is on the paper, or that your fear is irrational. Give it a try and let me know if it

helps. I love this quote I saw on Pinterest!

it is impossible to be compulsive and mindful at the same time

2.     Sleep

Our body and minds NEED sleep. Sleep is where we not only physically rest, but it is where our body repair themselves. We detox in our sleep, our minds repair, our cells renew, and our

body is able to reduce inflammations from our daily lives.

I am so serious about my sleep. I try my best to get 7-8 hours every night. Trust me you will notice a difference when you decide to prioritize sleep.

3.     Inspiring podcasts

We are what we consume so it’s important in order to recharge that we are putting positive things into our minds. There are so many good podcast channels out there all about health

and wellness, Faith, and uplifting conversations. The best thing is that they are all free. I am blown away with all the option there are in the podcast world. You can seriously find a

podcast talking all about any stage of life: from wellness girlies to moms, to grandparents. You name it, there is a podcast about it.

Music is also great to recharge. I love to sing my heart out when my brain is running, or I am having a hard day. It’s not just a placebo effect, singing actually stimulates our Vagus Nerve

which is crucial for a calm nervous system. So turn on positive songs that you love and sing ladies sing!

Here are a couple podcast channels I’m loving recently:

Self Dom

She talk a lot about health + wellness but she also talks about mindset.

I find her to be a positive and uplifting person to listen to in the health world.

The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show

I love this casual podcast that literally talks about everything under the sun. they

interview top brand CEOs, to doctors, to your everyday fitness/health guru. I love to

listen when im looking for a casual listen that is packed full of information that I can learn

from.

The Dr. Leaf show

This podcast is a MUST for another interested in retiring there brains. she

is a Christian women who shows how science lines up with God’s Word. I find

it extremely encouraging, for someone who struggles with anxiety or negative thoughts.

she really explains that it is POSSIBLE to change our mindsets. give it a listen.

I promise you won’t be dissapointed!

WHOA That’s Good

I adore this podcast. It is a primarily Christian podcast but she interviews people and

discusses all thing success, struggles, and triumph, and how God is So amazing! I have

been listening to her podcast since 2020 when I was in a really dark time both physically

and spiritually. This podcast is so encouraging and uplifting for anyone!

4.     Surrounding yourself with people who bring life to you

You are who you surround yourself with. The saying “one bad apple spoils the batch” is so true. I notice that I feel drained when im around really negative people. the negativity is

contagious. Same is for the reverse. Have you ever been in a group and felt the dynamic change when a person who just overflows with joy walks in. you immediately feel hopeful,

positive, encourage, and your energy increases. Negative people suck the life out of you

I want to note that it is just as important to work on being a person who brings life to others rather than sucking the life away. I am always working on this. I tend to be a more negative

thinker if I’m being 100% real with ya’ll. However, I know that I have the ability (through Jesus) to change my thought patterns and be a person that others want to be around.

5.     Prioritize stress relieving activities

Finally, stress is the biggest energy, emotional, and physical drainer for me. I really struggle with stress. I have lived in a chronic stage of stress for many years now (all a part of my story)

that can be hard for me to reduce my stress.

Over the past year I have dove deep into the impacts of stress on my health. I was shocked at how many consequences chronic stress has on our lives and health. It affects our guts,

minds, inflammation, how we process foods, and the list goes on. I have decided that stress is worse for me then whatever I am worrying about, so I need to commit to reducing my stress.

Some of my favorite ways is honestly playing music that brings me joy (whether Christian or just fun songs), writing my thoughts out, taking a bath, Deep breathing exercises, movement

(OBVIOUSLY), or any other self -care activity.

Life is all about balance and living to the fullest. I am learning what brings me joy and focusing on bring life into my life! Dm me @jen.lanee of what make you feel recharged.

I love to read your tips so I can always try new things!
